Every year scams cost Australian citizens, businesses, and the economy hundreds of millions of dollars and have the ability to cause emotional harm to victims and their families. The best way to protect yourself is through awareness and education.
There is currently an Australian Taxation Office (ATO) phone call scam doing the rounds of which I received a phone call personally, the automated message claimed that there would be a warrant out for my arrest if I didn’t proceed, be wary of these!
Therefore – the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is providing us with ‘The Little Black Book of Scams’. This terrific publication provides a pocket-size guide so you can spot, avoid and protect yourself against scams and ensure your financial wellbeing.
